Each Compucon Gemini PC includes a special motherboard and extra connectivity hardware. In a software layer outside of the core Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system, dual keyboards, mice and graphic displays are managed separately and assigned to each user, utilising the user switching features of Microsoft Windows XP.

With time sharing (multiplexing), each user, program and hardware component is granted exclusive use of the system for moment in time. Extremely fast switching between users, combined with powerful processors, can convince both users that they have full use of the system.
